Conquest vs Birthright
A Fire Emblem Dispute!
The Main differences & what to keep in mind:
Conquest is basically the evil nature where you are the invaders of the story, where as Birthright if the good of the two stories. If you are new to Fire Emblem as a whole and simply would like to play and figure it out as you go along Birthright is a good place to start as it is newbie friendly. On the other hand Conquest is for those people looking for a challenge in the game as it is harder by nature.
Both games are awesome -- however if you want to start off with 1 my own personal recommendation would be conquest given the fact that you can get adjusted as you play the game.
Key differences in Fire Emblem Fates Conquest vs Birthright:
In Birthright the game play is much similar to that of the previous game Awakening. Where you can level up all your units with all the excess experience that the game allows you to garner.
On the other hand in Conquest it is much different, you have to use your timing and resources sparingly and you will have to be very picky as to which members you plan on leveling up as there is no extra experience to gain apart from the playable levels.
If you need a comparison you can think of it in the following way, Birthright is comparable to Fire Emblem: Awakening. Where as Conquest is comparable to the very first game of the series Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light
